The band name ´´Ugly Skulls´´ started in Casal do Sarra / Carregado / Lisboa / Portugal , in the year of 1993 ! It was the time that Grunge came out and Artur Tavares wanted to form a Band with 2 other school colleges and friends Nélson Paulino e Pedro Pereira(Pipa)!
After Artur was a whole week in the field catching some tomatos , he saved enought money to buy his first electric guitar (AriaPro2) as Nélson traveled with his dad to Vila Franca de Xira for his Bass and Pipa had already his Drum set waiting!
Playing cover songs from Guns n´Roses , Metallica , Nirvana etc...the 3 young boys were the first Rock n´Roll band in this small village! Sad to say this band only had 3 live apperances! The rehearsals were heard from school colleges miloes away they said!
20 years after Artur started a band again and needed a name!The name ´´Ugly Skulls´´ was heard again in a Town called Neumünster/Hamburg/Germany in 2013! Rock/Grunge cover band kicks some serious ass on stage with great performances!
With Heiko Fucks on solo guitar , he has been playing over 25 years in several bands such as ´´The Colours´´ , ´´Tribestuff´´ as he played together with Artur at the time, and at the moment he joins in on ´´Shameless, an awesome cover band from neumünster!!!
On the Drums there is ´´Piet´´ Petersen , who joined the band in 2014! At the age of 10 he got his first drum set! 1991 he joined a schoolband and covered AC/DC & Guns N´Roses and had the first live apperences! After 1996 he got some Studio experiences, and played in some oldies cover bands! after 2014 he notice that playing for Ugly Skulls was the best decision of his life.....
On Bass , Johann : I started playing rockmusic in 1994 with my first (grunge-)band "endorsleeping"... after moving to Berlin (1999) I was sold for 2 beers to my next band "Vierpol"... we played something like Rock/Pop in german... this formation changed in 2003 into a new band called "2FatTwins" playing Crossover... at the same time I became a member of a band called "Downshifter"... this was my most "professional" time, with a lot of live (supporting BillyTalent, Samiam, Donots, EmilBulls and lot's of others) and studio experience... in 2006 ended my membership in both bands... during all this time and a couple of years after this I did several nameless projects...
